Is Home Health Aide Education Getting Too Expensive? Time To Consider Alternatives To Traditionally Having A Nurse As A Full Time Employee For Training.

July 8, 2021
Today, it has become increasingly difficult to get home health aides trained and ready to keep up with the number of clients you need to cover. This is especially hard when agencies have multiple service lines. You may be dealing with a patient that receives private duty hours, skilled home health hours and/or respite time under a hospice plan of care. Now, let's say the nurse who completes the training for you is also someone who you count on to spend time in the field seeing patients. What type of time do you lose in training because your nurse can't train for another week and then next month it is another week? Maybe your trainer is unable to keep up with the competency check offs in the home.  It happens frequently so you need to consider what alternatives you have to ensure training gets completed routinely and efficiently within your organization.
